Oil on canvas, 50 x 40 cm, 2021. Inspired by the work of photographer, Chris Baker who, along with his publishers, kindly permitted me to use as a reference, one of his photos capturing the scenes and spirit of Sunday Football on Hackney Marshes. I felt I’d tried to chase the photo too much which has made the result a little too tight IMHO. However, a man who saw it at Art on the Railings with Farnham Art Society, loved it and I’m very grateful to his wife for buying it for his Christmas present.
