I read or heard someone suggest that pensioners were an easy target as they were unlikely to travel to London to protest! I wonder why there has been no suggestion of just reducing it so that we still got something. 🤷‍♀️ Martin Lewis had a good idea of keeping it for people in the lower council tax brackets. Hopefully we artists will keep going in our garrets with an extra layer or two to keep warm. Anyhow….well drawn and topical Lew.

Your wonderful observational skills are always a delight Lewis. And I think you have definitely got us old uns chuntering. I think a better way for the Government to save money would be to stop all MPs having second homes and like they keep telling us to work from home!!

Excellent artwork Lew , I won’t get into discussion about the wrong decisions being made as I get angry.

Thanks Tessa and Chris. A good point Chris, apparently MPs get an unlimited fuel allowance on their second homes.

Sharp and to the point (top left), wicked sense of humour (bottom), great characters (all).

Very good Lewis, as brilliant as ever... and a note to Tessa, I already have my extra layers on her in Wales as I paint!

Brilliant Lew , pensioners won't forget!!, I wish I was a train driver.

Excellent work again Lewis and so observent.

Excellent Lewis. I don't get a winter fuel payment but it has made me so angry. I've signed all the petitions I could find with regards to it. It's a disgrace.

... wonder indeed, great work as always Lewis

Top one says something for us all Lew. I'm one of those who miss out on pension credits, so no 300 pound allowance, and now to rub salt in the wounds, I've just got notice my Electric bill is going up by £300 a year. Disgusting. Great drawing from you and biting truth. Well done as ever.

Send a copy of the top illustration to your MP - with one for the Chancellor. I'm sure it resonates with all of us!

A sore point in Scotland too Lewis, as the SNP have decided (conveniently) to adopt the same principal. Never mind that it’s even colder up here in the north, there can be 10-15 degrees difference in temperatures sometimes and that isn’t taking in to account the poor people that live as far north as Shetland and Orkney. I would guess that they are closer to Greenland than to London or the south coast of England Great art as always and topical.

Brilliant, topical work Lewis. Wonder what ever happens to promises over the windfall tax.

Very topical Lewis and very well illustrated.

Just brilliant Lewis!

Wonderful illustrations Lewis

Wonderful as usual Lewis, and just love the humour in the bottom one. I didn't know about pensioners in the UK losing the winter fuel allowance, very sorry to hear that. Politicians certainly do well for themselves.

Excellent as ever, Lewis - and thanks for keeping our spirits up!

Don't get me started on this decision by the new govt! Your drawings are superb and to the point - as ever.

Awesome art as always Lewis ❤️

I'd drawn the old boy top left just for something to draw. There was all that stuff on TV about the winter fuel allowance, so I used it. Remarkable that they'd target pensioners first, wonder what else they have up their sleeves?

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
