Inspired painting holidays in Devon 

Catherine and Peter welcome you to our fully residential art holidays in beautiful Devon and Exmoor. Be inspired by the wonderful landscapes, gardens and historic villages and spend time honing your skills in our spacious studios. 

Join us between April and September for a full painting week or a shorter course. Each holiday includes both studio sessions and location visits to nearby landscapes and gardens. You’ll have your own space in one of our two bright artist’s studios. Enjoy individual attention from professional artist and experienced tutor Catherine, who will encourage you in your favourite medium or introduce you to something new.  We keep our groups small, so that we can cater for all levels – beginners are welcome too!

Enjoy your stay in a comfortable room in one of our two village houses in Bampton, a thriving historic village on the Devon / Somerset border, with independent shops and local pubs.  Close by are scenic painting locations in the Exe valley and Exmoor, beautiful National Trust sites and well-known gardens including RHS Rosemoor, Marwood Hill, and Hestercombe. Within Bampton, sketch village scenes, the 13thC church and other interesting historic buildings. 

Relax with your group in the evening over one of Peter’s home-cooked meals.  Non-painting partners are welcome too – they can join us for meals and for outings, or else explore the many west country attractions within easy reach. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside but only 12 miles from the M5 and rail connections.
