Sue Chapman
Biography
A self-confessed Photoshop addict I started off owning a camera aged around 10 years old, but gave photography up during O'levels until I was in my mid 30’s! The artistic passion was reignited when my daughter went to nursery and the paint brush took over, a botanical illustration course attended and painting became a serious hobby. People actually offered me money for my paintings so I ended up photographing the originals and then selling them along with printing my own giclee prints. Five years later I got hooked up on photography again and ended up gaining my ARPS and CPAGB. Whizz ahead another 20 years, two hip, two knee replacements, relocating with a new very modern house build near Sandwich and I’m back to painting again along with glass fusing. With the exception of portraits I pretty much enjoy painting anything and everything in primarily watercolours but also dabbling with watercolour pencils, pen and ink, acrylic and the occasional oil! I don’t use fancy words or hype to promote myself. I simply enjoy painting for the sheer love and relaxation it gives me. As a keen gardener I used to focus on flowers but now architecture and birds seem to be my focus. Maybe next year it will be landscapes! I hope you enjoy my style which can be quite eclectic.
